It's a bit of a stretch to say that Flash will be extinct since for things like HD playback and live streaming there will continue to be a need for Flash as these things currently aren't possible with HTML5. It's definitely possible that we'll see Flash take a nose-dive in market share, but I'd say it isn't likely we'll see it disappear.

I agree with pretty well all your points above. I do web design and I am constantly telling people how powerful and important HTML5 is, Id also add to your list that flash will be extinct by the end of the year.

Hi guys, the open source version already has user-generated uploads (http://opensource.mediacore.com/features/user-uploads). We were just catching the hosted platform to where the open source version is at.

Andrey, we are updating the open source version, and if you read the forums you would see that we've been quite active in talking about our plans for the open source version and the release cycle.

When wil this be included in the release? (I can't find it in the settings).
Is there a way i can download the required file myself and make a new build with it.

Greetings!

I dont think they are updating the open source version anymore... just like many "open source software companies" they have used the community ... commercialized the product and no longer need to support the community... its the in thing to do now :)
