Single Sign-on with Moodle and More

MediaCore is now fully certified as a Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) compliant learning tool. This means that our users can seamlessly connect their MediaCore site to their Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, Sakai or Desire2Learn platform.

Setting up LTI takes just minutes – and gives students and staff the ability to sign on to MediaCore with a single click from their existing learning environment. MediaCore will even recognize whether the user is a student or teacher, and will make sure they have the correct permissions to view, upload and manage video content.

We’re already seeing large institutions using MediaCore’s LTI integration to provide a seamless video learning experience for their users.

By clicking on a MediaCore icon in their Moodle site, the Charity Learning Consortium’s  (CLC) 100,000 members are instantly signed in to MediaCore to view video-based professional development content:

“IMS LTI is the perfect tool for the CLC and our members. It is not just about delivering high quality video for us. We needed to secure some content but not others; keep separate yet collaborate with over 100 charities, and enable some users to upload new content while others can only view it.

MediaCore understood our needs and how IMS LTI offered the perfect bridge between Moodle and their platform. It is easy to set up and we have only just started to uncover the potential here.

But really the best thing is, for the user it’s seamless. For the admin, they can see all the usage data they want. Combining the power of my LMS, IMS LTI and MediaCore has been super easy and I know I could only have provided our members with such a good service through working with the team at MediaCore.”

And the University of London’s Bloomsbury Colleges are also using MediaCore’s LTI integration to provide easy access to their MediaCore learning materials from within their Moodle-based Bloomsbury Learning Environment

“The Virtual Learning Environment (in our case, Moodle) is fundamental in providing a focal space for our learners, engaging them and supporting them with their studies. The integration of MediaCore with Moodle is an exciting and welcome development that we look forward to exploring, so that our learners can access relevant video and audio material from within their course areas without the need of using another username and password.”
